Apply now. Board of Directors Appointments – Institute of Management Consultants (Australia)

Join the Board of Directors that enhances and promotes excellence and integrity in the Management Consulting profession in Australia.

The Institute of Management Consultants (IMC) is the member-based, not-for-profit, and peak professional organisation representing management consultants in Australia. The Institute’s mission is to promote integrity, ethical practice, and professional conduct in the management consulting profession, maintain internationally recognised competency standards, invite membership to those who support our mission and enable the continuing professional development of the IMC’s members.

IMC is a founding and full member of the International Council of Management Consulting Institutes and is accredited to assess and certify management consultants for the award of CMC.

In a submission to the Senate Inquiry into Management and Assurance of Integrity of Consulting Services, IMC demonstrated its commitment to maintaining trust, integrity, transparency, and responsibility in the management consulting profession as it has done since its inception in 1969.

The Institute’s Board of Directors is seeking to appoint additional and replacement Directors to the Board due to retirements and the expected demand for the Institute’s services.  This is an exceptional opportunity to contribute to Australia’s management consulting profession and enhance professional practice through membership, professional development, certification, and self-regulation.

The Board seeks experienced leaders who understand the purpose of an organisation representing the management consulting profession, are passionate about excellence and integrity, service and responsibility to society and have demonstrated achievements in professional or director roles.

The Opportunity

You would be most suited to a director role if you are committed to the mission and objectives of the IMC and want to contribute to its governance and strategy, including taking an active part in growing membership, promoting learning and development, and collaborating with the profession, industry and government.

To enhance equality and diversity on our Board, we are particularly interested in receiving applications from a broader demographic, including female candidates and mid-career professionals interested in improving the excellence and integrity of the management consulting profession.

Highly desired skills and experience sought include:

  • strategy and governance,
  • public relations and marketing,
  • stakeholder and external relations, and
  • Information technology and social media.

It is also desirable that candidates are graduates of AICD or GIA and are Certified Management Consultants (CMC) or eligible to be certified.  In addition, learning and development, and grants and fundraising skills and experience are considered advantageous but not essential.  We seek Directors who can develop governance and behavioural competencies in these roles.

Are you ready to do something meaningful to contribute to the management consulting profession?
