Although the underlying reasons causing this issue may vary depending on the consultant and the situation, our panelists will share their personal stories and insights on how they have dealt with this problem during their career.

Our panelists will share their career journey and experiences as internal consultants and what has worked and not worked for them.

About our Panel

James Papadiotis, Reporting Architect - Data Business Analyst

James has been working as an internal consultant in the insurance and financial services industries advising the senior management team in the creation of strategic reporting. Influencing the management on the architecture of the reporting and the KPIs to be introduced is crucial in order to achieve effective control and guide appropriate behaviour. During his career, he progressed fast going from graduate to senior in the span of just 5 years. After a long day of work, James organises the most delicious BBQs.

 

 

 

 

Dr Nick Hadjinicolaou, MIMC CMC, Enterprise Agile Delivery Lead, BAE Systems

Nick has over 30 years of consulting, project and program management having spent the last 9 years as Founding Program Director of the Masters of Project Management Program at Torrens University Australia. Nick’s previous senior leadership and strategic roles including Digital Transformation, Agile implementations, Portfolio Management, ICT Management, Business Management senior stakeholder management, SMO and consulting roles for various organisations such as IBM, Telstra, 3Pillars Asia Pacific, Business SA, the state government, NCVER, Torrens University Australia and currently with BAE Systems as an Enterprise Agile Delivery Lean and Program Manager.

These roles have involved consulting on complex communication and stakeholder negotiations for large scale digital transformations, capital program planning, Agile implementation, development of strategic plans, organisational maturity assessments, setup of PMOs and SMOs, enterprise architecture, business process improvement, people management, change management, stakeholder management and benefits management.

Nick is a Certified IMC Management Consultant (CMC), Certified Scrum Master, a PMI Program and Project Management Professional (PgMP, PMP),  AgilePM and Scrum Certified, Hybrid Agile and SAFe Agilist, and in 2021 became the first IASP Strategic Management Professional (SMP) in Australia.

He has a passion for learning, teaching, collaboration and helping others. He has completed a BSc, MBA, MPM, and a PhD in Project Management with a number of global publications.

He is also the Founding President of the Australia Chapter for the International Association for Strategy Professionals (IASP) and Past President of the IMC SA/NT Chapter.  

 

Steve Ibbotson, FIMC CMC, Director of 3 Pillars Asia Pacific

Steve has been consulting for 20+ years and has been a member of IMC since 2005. Steve is passionate about development the profession and assisting up and coming management consultants to become successful in their own right and regularly co-assesses candidates applying for CMC status with IMC. Steve specialises in Lean Six Sigma process improvement methodology and process management. His focus when implementing Lean Six Sigma is to impart knowledge to others whilst guiding them through the various stages of an implementation to ensure success. Steve has been heavily involved in the Defence Strategic Reform Program (SRP) and the Cost-Conscious Continuous Improvement Program (CCCIP) since 2008 and continues to work across Navy, Army and Air Force in strategic reform activities. Steve is President of the South Australia & Northern Territory IMC Chapter and is a Board member of Federal Council.
