At the IMC we pride ourselves on offering many different avenues for professional development tailored to our students, associate, affiliate, fellow and CMC members. Our professional development programs enhance the skills and knowledge of IMC members while advancing their consulting career.  

IMC's Professional Development Framework

IMC have developed a Professional Development Framework that offers members a range of development initiatives for consultants at all stages of their management consulting career to maintain currency with the profession and requirements for ongoing certification.  The robust Framework reflects the core elements in the CMC Competence Framework CMC002 and the Common Body of Knowledge CMC004, and is underpinned by alignment with the international standard ISO 20700:2017 Guidelines for Management Consultancy, essential for all practising management consultants, and progresses to a range of development activities, a national qualification, the Diploma of Consultancy, and ultimately the achievement of Certified Management Consultant (CMC) status. Members can access different elements of the Framework at any stage but progression through the levels is suggested as a sound basis for developing a career in management consulting.
